Speaker Profile
Julia Green is Founder & Executive Chair of FORMULA AFRICA™, building the physical, human and digital infrastructure for a new African motorsport economy.
Across a continent with an estimated 600 million people under the age of 16, FORMULA AFRICA™ is being designed as a scalable, repeatable ecosystem to unlock human potential, build audiences and create long-term economic opportunity.
Connecting education, technology, data and talent intelligence with physical discovery and development, the platform is designed to identify not only the next generation of racing talent, but the engineers, technicians, mechanics, designers, data specialists, media professionals, commercial leaders and entrepreneurs who can build the industry around them.
Through motorsport and education, FORMULA AFRICA™ connects young people, parents, fans, brands and industry within one ecosystem by creating engagement, entertainment and educational value while developing talent, future skills, employment and commercially sustainable careers.
The ambition extends across the motorsport ecosystem: creating opportunities for African drivers to progress into Formula racing, endurance, GT, IndyCar, rally and SIM competition, while simultaneously building the technical and commercial workforce required to support them.
For Julia, the opportunity is ultimately multi-generational: to create infrastructure that can continue discovering and developing people long after today’s first participants have progressed through it, producing champions on track, capability off track, new consumers, new businesses and stronger communities.
What Julia will talk about
Building the Infrastructure for Human Potential
Julia will explore how technology, data and talent intelligence can help identify and develop human potential at continental scale, and how physical discovery infrastructure can be connected to education, digital participation and real-world opportunity.
She will discuss FORMULA AFRICA™ as a new model for sports-tech investment: physical, human and digital infrastructure working together, with motorsport providing the engagement and entertainment layer while education, technology and industry create the pathway to skills, careers and economic participation.
The commercial opportunity is equally important. A digital platform connecting young people, parents, fans, talent, brands and industry can create new forms of fan engagement, consumer participation, data intelligence and commercial value, while the physical ecosystem develops talent and workforce capability across multiple markets.
The longer-term proposition is therefore bigger than producing racing drivers. It is about creating a sustainable industry around them while developing champions across multiple disciplines while building the engineers, technicians, teams, technology, media, audiences, commercial partnerships and infrastructure that allow an ecosystem to grow.
Julia believes commercial sustainability and community impact should not be competing ambitions. The opportunity is to build a parallel, uncompromising and inclusive model in which performance, investment return, education, opportunity and social impact reinforce one another, potentially offering a blueprint for the future development of sports platforms far beyond motorsport.
The ROI is not simply based upon on who will become the next champion. It is what economic value can be built around an entire generation of human potential.
