Description

When hospital patients need help, they typically have to pull an alarm cord or press a button. This tells healthcare staff which room is calling, but provides no insight into what the patient needs. As a result, this leads to unnecessary walking, repeated interruptions, struggle to prioritize the right patient/task and inefficient use of time. Pling is a digital communication platform that enables patients to send structured, detailed requests from their own phone or a tablet. Requests are sent directly to healthcare staff on their work phones. By letting staff know what patients need before entering the room, Pling improves workflows and enables staff to prioritize and respond more appropriately. A 30-hour observational study we conducted at Oslo University Hospital indicates that Pling can save up to 37 minutes per healthcare professional per shift. Pling is already used in daily operations by a paying private healthcare customer and will soon be piloted at Oslo University Hospital. Founded by healthcare professionals with first-hand experience of the problem, Pling is a scalable B2B SaaS solution for private, non-profit and public hospitals. We are currently raising a pre-seed round of €400,000 through a SLIP, the Norwegian equivalent of a SAFE.
