Description
Granarium Technologies is a Finnish deep-tech company building the fast-power layer for modern energy systems.
As renewable energy and electrification grow, grids and industrial operations face increasingly fast and repetitive power fluctuations. Batteries are excellent at storing energy, but they are not designed to handle every millisecond- and second-scale event.
Granarium develops renewable supercapacitors that respond instantly to stabilize power. Think of them as the shock absorbers of the energy system: supercapacitors handle fast power, while batteries handle energy. Our technology supports 24/7 industrial reliability, grid stability, and hybrid energy storage systems.
Our patented technology originates from more than 10 years of research at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. It uses nanocellulose, biocarbon and water to enable safe, recyclable supercapacitors based on renewable materials, with the potential for scalable local manufacturing and significantly lower production investment.
Granarium is now moving from laboratory validation into pilot production and preparing its first industrial customer deployments. The company has secured €1 million in private investment led by BSV Ventures.
Our vision is to make renewable fast-power storage a key reliability layer of Europe’s future energy system.
